What is up, y’all? I hope you are having such a great start to the week. How y’all doing? I am doing well. I am prepping for my upcoming launch and webinar. We just finished spring break with the kiddos, and I took some time off the whole week. And…
It was so nice. I went to Disneyland with the kids. We like did like a staycation and I live in LA now and for spring break we were really debating like what we wanted to do and I decided I decided my husband and I decided that we would stay local and just have a fun experience with it. We wanted to go to Disneyland. We knew that we’re not big Disney people even though we live very close. We’re not like crazy Disney people. We don’t even like.
know what’s popping at Disney. Because of that, I’m like, let’s take like a whole trip and go to Disney and stay there and like literally make it like feel like a whole vacation, right? So we did that. We stayed at what did we where did we stay? We stayed at the Weston Resort at in Anaheim. That’s where Disneyland is. It’s right across the street from Disneyland and we had an
amazing experience there actually. It’s a fancy, mangy hotel, but I will say the price was comparable to a lot of the hotels that were made for kids that had slides and water slides and things like that. It was pretty darn comparable. It was just a little bit more expensive than that. And I actually paid for it with points, so it ended up being quite a steal because we saved…
I guess we didn’t save that money, but we used points. So that was really helpful. And we had a great time. We had such a good time. I think sometimes because my little one, Brome, is two turning three and man, that boy is, he is something. Kids are so different. my first son, he was just so much more chill.
I didn’t know it at the time, but now with my second, I swear my little Rome like runs the show. Like if he doesn’t get what he wants, when he wants, like he is putting up a fight and letting everyone know. And wow, I’m impressed by him. That being said, I’m very, very good at handling very stubborn, like, like, I don’t know what it is about me and like this age.
as hard as it is, because it is so hard and so, like it could just be so, it’s emotionally a lot. Because I’m, y’all, he’s like, you know, the things that he is giving us a full ranging tantrum about are like the smallest things. Like I gave him a banana. He wanted a banana, so I gave him a banana, right? When he grabs the banana.
the top of the banana was just a tad bit like mushier than the bottom, because it was like brown and a little softer. So it came off very easily. just the tip of it came off. He threw the biggest fit, wanted a brand new banana. We didn’t have another banana. And then went on to just cry and yell at the top of his lungs for that reason. Or like if I put, like even if I put the
I put on his Crocs the other day and one of the straps, the strap in the back of the Crocs was like still under his foot a little bit and he didn’t know, I didn’t know. And he threw a giant fit and he’s just at this age where he developed, like from a developmental point of view, he is testing boundaries and he needs a lot of routine, he needs a lot of boundaries and.
He also was like learning how to deal with his emotions. So I’m very, I don’t know. I mean, I get irritated sometimes, but for the most part, I’m very impressed with myself. I feel like such an experienced mom because I don’t, like I’m not, I don’t get super, super emotionally frustrated most times. Most of the time I’m really patient and letting him go through his emotions.
and offering a hug and trying to teach him whatever the lesson was. And sometimes I get stubborn and I just allow, like for him to learn the lesson, I just have to allow him to go through his own stuff, right? And yeah, I’m just, I’m a little proud of myself. I’m a little proud of myself for this phase because he’s so much like harder on paper than his brother was.
I am so much more experienced. So he gives me a lot of confidence. feel like raising my second, he, I mean, him and I have like a special bond, but I really do feel so much more confident as a mom and so much more experienced as mom. And I just don’t feel as.
I don’t know. I don’t want to say I don’t feel as stressed because I’m way more stressed than before, but it’s not his fault. You know, like it’s it’s it’s just more people to love more people that I, you know, take care of. It’s just more love. Right. And like more goodness. I think about it like anything else. Right. Like if you want a big grand life, there are newer new problems that go with those that big grand life. And I feel like having my second. It’s.
So much more love, so much more. I mean, the the depths of purpose that I have for my life is just I’m super grateful. But. It’s still hard, you know. Anyways, I think a lot about what what’s her name, Chapel, Chapel. I’m going to say it wrong, but I know she she went viral saying like nobody she knows.
that nobody all of her friends that have kids are like miserable and like exhausted and tired and all this stuff. And I mean, she’s not that wrong. I didn’t see the big deal with it. I’m like, yeah, I mean, yeah, we are. We are. But like, there’s so much goodness to it, too. Right. Like, I think and I promise I’ll get to the episode here. But I think when. You know, when we.
when we think about how hard it could be. I’m thinking about parenthood, but I’m thinking about anything, right? Like even growing your business, it’s all hard, right? Anything that’s great in life is fucking hard to create, right? Healing is hard, right? But there are so many good moments, right? Like her friends aren’t, you’re not gonna go to your friend as an exhausted mom and talk about all the good things with your kids.
That’s what you’re typically talking to your partner about if you have one, they’re your friend, right? They’re the place you go to to complain and just to like vet about life and about stuff. So a lot of the time, like,
People without kids, they’re not hearing about like the, you know, the tickle sessions where they’re listening to their kid laugh at the top of their lungs. And it’s like the sweetest fricking thing you’ve ever seen in your life. Or my husband and I were just talking about this. We’re watching our oldest son grow and like watching him talk. Like when he talks to us, it’s just so much more conversational. And sometimes I just listen and I look at his lips move.
And it’s like the most present that I have. I want to say that I’ve ever felt in those moments because I’m like mesmerized by him and his growth and his talking and what he’s saying. It’s like it’s just like being deeply, deeply in love with someone and just watching them talk is like a fucking joy.
So it’s like, not gonna talk about those things with our friends. Yeah, I think there’s both worlds. But anyways, we had a great time and I got to spend a lot of time with my babies and have a good time with them and that was wonderful. So let’s talk about how to create higher quality content, okay? Higher quality content. Now.
The type of high quality that I’m going to be talking about on today’s episode is the potency, the depth, the care that we as business owners can have and do that creates content that just sticks to your ideal clients.
It’s the type of content where you’re like, my god, they are reading my mind. They are in my brain. How do they know this? This is so good, right? When you experience that kind of content, that kind of content comes with a lot of care. It comes with a lot of time and energy put in to understanding your ideal client.
understanding your process of creating content, studying, studying content, practicing skills, right? Like it comes with work and I want to break it down today and make it more simpler for you. So that’s what we’re going to do today. Let’s, I’m trying to think, let’s get into it actually before we get into it.
I want to make sure that if you have not signed up for my upcoming webinar, create a simple repeatable content strategy that actually sells your offer ethically and authentically. If you have not signed up, make sure to sign up. It’s happening April 23rd. It’s a Wednesday. And I’m going to be breaking down how to create a content system and strategy that is simple and repeatable and that
actually does the work to sell your offer and convert. That’s really important to me because I don’t want you to just create content. want you to be able to actually grow your business to a place that you can quit your job, that you can fund your retirement, whatever your goals are. I want you to be able to do that through this work and I want your content to be able to do that. So that is what we’re talking about at the webinar.
And a little bit of that we’ll talk about today. I’m breaking down specifically how to create higher quality content, how to create high quality content that actually converts. So make sure to sign up for that. Also, doors will be opening to show up real on the 23rd. And there will be a very special bonus for people who join for that first 24 to 48 hours. I haven’t decided what it will be.
If is you, make sure that, like if you’re interested, make sure you sign up for the webinar and just mentally get ready to join if you’ve been wanting to join, okay, or if you’re interested. All right, let’s get into this. Let’s get into the kind of steps I have for you to create higher quality content.
All right, so I really, before I get into the steps, I wanna be clear about something. If, why creating higher quality content matters and specifically who this is going to benefit the most is if you’re a person who is creating content regularly and you are consistent and you are showing up and you’re doing all these things you’re supposed to do and you’re not seeing it convert into clients, then there’s something missing.
There is something missing and it is your job to figure what that something is out and it is my job to help you do that, okay? So if you’re creating content and it’s not leading to sales, it’s not always that you need to create more content. Sometimes it’s that you need to create better content. So this episode is really for folks who are showing up but not seeing the traction that they want. And it’s also for…
anyone else, but specifically I was thinking about these people and really trying to help you get a better idea of how you could create just higher quality content that deeply speaks to your person. All right. So step number one in this process of creating higher quality content is define your clear results or path that you help people.
get to. So many of you know you have to have a result that you help people get if you are a coach. But even if you are a service-based business, like if you help people build websites, or you’re a photographer, or you’re a lawyer, you want to identify what is your thing? What are you going to help people with? And a big part of this is you
understanding who your ideal client is and getting to know them at such deep levels, okay? At such deep levels. Which we’ll talk about in a separate one, but first, I just want to make clear that the first part of creating higher quality content is like, you have to have a purpose. And if you’re back and forth with the result that you help people get, then it’s going to affect.
the quality of your content. It’s just the truth. Your content will be more vague, right? Because you don’t have an actual solution that you can get behind. It doesn’t even need to be this like fancy schmancy, super tangible result. Although sure, it helps. But I’ve seen so, I mean, I have been in so many masterminds. I have been around so many people making lots and lots of money.
And I’ve seen so many types of businesses sell a lot of coaching and a lot of services. I’ve, photographers making over millions, lawyer, a whole bunch of people, right? So I want to be clear here is you have to get behind, what it is, what is it that I could a hundred percent feel like that I hundred percent feel confident that I could help someone achieve? Okay. Like a hundred percent.
Learn how to get behind that. That is so, so important. And it goes with number two. Number two is you have to own your expertise, your experience, and your stories. You have to. You have to. I think a problem that happens a lot is that people are looking at this person’s content and that person’s content, and they’re looking at their competitors and
They’re trying to recreate what their competitors are doing and do it their way, which is, you know, that’s a part of the process and there’s room for that. But if you really want to create high quality content that makes people feel instantly connected to you, makes them feel like, my God, this person completely understands me. Like if that’s the kind of content you’re going for, then you have to
own your experience and not from a place of fluffing it up from a real ass like look I’m not a pro at this and this and that but I am a pro at this. I can stand behind this. You want to understand what is it that you stand behind right the result that we just talked about. What can you 100 % get behind and really confidently say like I could 100 % help the
average, like if I picked up someone from the street and they needed help with this thing, I could 100 % help them. Okay?
I could 100 % help them. And then from that, you also have to just own everything you’re not. Just own all your experience, own your experience, own your stories, own what you have created, but don’t own what you haven’t. Don’t own what you haven’t done yet, what you’re not great at. It’s OK to just be able to help someone with what
you are experienced with. I think this is what dilutes a lot of content and that makes the quality of it just so much less, less, what’s the word I’m looking for? Less potent is when people, and I’ve done this y’all, like I’ve done this. There’s so many times that I’ve been in my head and I’ve created content that I, like I know it’s helpful and maybe I’m like a little bit no.
like I have a little bit of experience in, but I’m not wildly confident in it. When you are just sharing what you’re wildly confident in, it shows up. It shows up. So when I say own your expertise, you have to own the experience you have, own your stories, own your story.
and quit thinking that it needs to be fancier and better for it to be likable and for it to be profitable. It’s not true. It’s not true. The more you could get behind what you are naturally, naturally so good at, the more likely you will be able to convert with your content and write and create higher quality content.
All right, so that’s number two. Number three, and I’d probably say number three is like the most important part of creating higher quality content. Number three is you have to be committed to studying your clients or studying your ideal client. Nobody on earth should know more about your ideal client and everything they’re doing.
to get to the goal that you can help them with. What are they doing? What are they thinking? What have they tried? What have they not tried?
What do they dream about? What do they really want? And how you do this is you rewatch all your sales calls and actually identify, listen to what they were asking of you, regardless of whether they signed or not.
all your coaching calls, rewatch your coaching calls, rewatch them. Listen for what you missed. Listen for what they’re telling you they need help with over and over and over again. The more you can study that and study them.
The more you could do that while owning your own expertise, the more your content will be so freaking bold. It’ll be so authentic. It’ll be so you because you’ll actually be saying things that you want to say and you won’t be diluting it so much. You won’t be trying to make it sound nicer and better and whatever. You’ll just be like, I got this to say. I got this saying, I got that to say. They need to hear this. They need to hear that.
Study your people every single week. Every single week. Challenge yourself when you’re creating content, when you are coming up with an idea. Challenge yourself to think about one person who needs to hear the message that you have and then tell them. Tell them what you have to say. Practice utilizing your voice.
your point of view. That is what is going to make your content higher quality and more convertible into actual clients.
Study them.
study them. also, mean, with that also study what works. Study what kind of content that you’ve put out that actually gains traction. Like what type of things have people come to you with, right? On a sales call, if you’ve had a sales call, what have they come to you with? What are they saying they know about you? There’s a message that you’re giving people and you want to know what that message is.
All right, so that’s number three. And the number four, this is the last one, is you want to create a simple content system. I talked about this on a past episode, but you want to make sure that you have a system, a process to create content that is easy and that is simple and that is repeatable. Because if you don’t have a system,
that is repeatable and sustainable, then you won’t put out the content. Or you will put out the content. But you’ll be rushing through it so much. you’ll templa, templasize it, templasize it. I don’t know if that’s a word, but you’ll, you’ll just think about it in templates where you’re just trying to get it done. And then it’ll dilute the actual quality.
of what you’re trying to say. You have to practice being wildly present when you’re creating one piece of content.
It doesn’t even need to be a lot of time. Like you could create one great, I used to create content at the line in Starbucks. I don’t go to Starbucks anymore that much. Sometimes I do because I get gift cards or whatever, but.
I would, that was my, like a part of my system was me writing a whole caption while I was waiting in line in the drive-through. But during that time, I was really thinking, like the words I was saying to myself was like, okay, who do I want to write a piece of content for? Okay, let me write it for this person. What is the last thing they told me? What were we talking about last? yeah, she mentioned this, this, this, that. yeah, I needed, she needs to know that like, she needs to think about that different. That’s so unhelpful and she should absolutely not think that way. Okay.
Let me write a content about that. And I would write.
And then by the time I got to work, I would post it with a photo and I’d be like, that’s my post for the day. Let me get to work. You need a simple, repeatable strategy. If the strategy isn’t sustainable, if it isn’t easy for you to execute, or you don’t have support. look, if you have money and a team, then you can create a system with help, right? If you have someone to help you, great. But.
At the end of the day, you want it to be simple enough to execute regularly. I’m learning this lesson right now because I decided to switch up my support system, right, including my podcast manager, and my podcast suffered because of it. I’ve been late to put out episodes, right? So like that’s something I’m actively fixing because that part of my system is a little messed up.
So for you, what can you do to simplify that process? How can you make it not such an ordeal for you to actually put right out a piece of content or record a piece of content?
All right, y’all, those are the four steps. Number one, I’m gonna switch it up a little bit. Number one is you have to own your expertise, your stories, and your experience as a coach, as a business person, as an expert. Don’t try to be like other people. Own what you have experience with and leave what you don’t.
People will still want to work with you and your content will be better quality. It will be more authentic. It’ll be more real because you know you’re not hiding anything. You’re just being you and you’re saying, hey, fine. Some of you are not going to want to work with me because my expertise or my experience isn’t as much as the next person. But for those of you who want this result, which is number two, you got to get clear on the result.
For those who want this, I can help you with it. It might not be the fanciest result, but it is a good one and it’s gonna change your life.
You have to get clear on what you help people do, the transformation you help people with. Now, depending on if you’re a service-based business or a coach, this might look a little different, or an expert online, or if you have an offer or if you don’t have an offer, right? But regardless, you wanna, what’s the purpose? You wanna have a result that you’re trying to help people get and a result that everything kind of is leading to.
Number three, you have to be committed to studying your clients. Your ideal client is everything, is everything to creating great marketing. The businesses who know their ideal client the most, the best, wins, period and end point. If you know your people,
you could sell to your people. Period.
But you have to be willing to create content for your person, not for the general fucking public, and not for it to be absolutely not for it to be likable on Instagram.
And then last but not least, number four is you have to have a repeatable, sustainable content system. A simple content system that’s easy for you to replicate over and over and over again so that the actual creating and the actual publishing doesn’t feel like a ton of work. All right, y’all, I hope this was helpful.
If you have not signed up for my upcoming webinar, I am talking about this. I’m going deeper on how to make a really simple content strategy and system that is repeatable and that doesn’t take so much effort every single time. I know you will take so much from it, so make sure that you sign up. Doors are also opening to Show Up Real soon. So if you have any questions, please, please let me know. Show Up Real is my content marketing program designed to help you
