And I have So many learnings that I’m going to be bringing to the show. I wanted to give you a little pep talk. Okay. So this episode is for my perfectionist clients who [00:02:00] feel debilitated in taking action because they want to get it right so badly. They want to do it right. They want to come off the way they want to come off. They are just so focused on doing it well and right. This is for you. Okay. It doesn’t matter when it comes, if it’s business, If it’s of content, if it’s marketing, if it’s whatever, that’s, this is for you. Okay. For the perfectionists out there. Here’s what I want to tell you. You do not get better at anything unless you do it over and over and over again. This means if you are a person who struggles with posting content consistently or even not consistently, I hate that word consistently. Like if you are a person who just struggles to show up when you want to. Right? Like if you actually desire to, but you pull yourself [00:03:00] back so much of the time, I want you to know that you breaking through that little cycle, breaking through that, like, okay, if I think about showing up, I’m going to show up. And if you make that the growth and that the work that will help you get closer to where you want to be. That will help you get closer to where you want to be. You have to remember in business, in anything, in any growth, it doesn’t matter. It doesn’t matter if you want to be a pro basketball player. It doesn’t matter if you want to be like a yogi who travels around the world. What doesn’t matter what you do.
[00:04:00] Okay. If you’re a coach, money coach, sales coach, whatever, it doesn’t matter. If you want to get great at what you do. If you want to be known for what you do, if you want to help people in a major way, you have to practice the fundamentals of that, the fundamentals of that. And in business, if you have a business, if you want to build a business that serves the most people, you have to practice the fundamental of that. of marketing. You have to practice the fundamentals of showing up and doing what you got to do. It’s a fundamental. It’s like you being a basketball player, every single pro athlete basketball player, you know what they’re doing every single practice, they’re fucking dribbling. You think they’re tired of dribbling and practicing dribbling? Probably. Probably, but they also, they got to do that. That’s a part of the game. That’s not just a part of the game. It is so much of the game. And if you are a business [00:05:00] owner, marketing is so much of the game. You showing up and giving value is the game of business. It is the game. It’s not, it’s not even just so much the game. It’s the motherfucking game. You have to give value to people. You have to help them understand why it’s important to do the work that you help people do. You have to show them why it matters to their life. They want to see examples of it. They want to hear your stories. But if you want to build your business, if you want to make more money, if you want to scale your business to the first 50k, to 100k, to 200k, to 300k, to 5, to a million [00:06:00] plus, You still at a million dollars plus are going to be practicing the fundamentals. You’re still going to be dribbling the ball.
[00:06:30] So instead of playing this game with yourself of what, of am I doing this right? Or is this the right hook? Or, um, I want to make sure I make this real, just the perfect amount of seconds, or maybe this carousel needs to be more engaging and maybe I should add more graphics and maybe I should put a transition so it has like a smooth little, so it’s super cool and this and that. Like, let me tell you, my friend, so much of that shit does not matter. It does not matter. What matters is the value and the intention in that value. Everything changed in my business when I stopped giving so much [00:07:00] attention to aesthetic and to strategy and to all of these things. People want to see heart in content more than fucking ever. They want to see humans. talking. I promise you it is so safe to show up and learn how to dribble really, really well. It is so safe for you to show up in perfectly just helping a person out and testing out what works until you are so good at dribbling until you’re so good at marketing in this one specific way that you become known for it. And you become known for it because you’re so good at it because you’re giving so much value away. And that is when people will die to work with you. I promise yall. If you could [00:08:00] just get on this, this, this, this What’s the word I’m looking for? If you can just practice, repeat, practice and repeat the fundamental skills. And what that looks like in content specifically is like, if you can just get really good at showing up and maybe you like reels. So if you like reels, then for one whole month, I would challenge you to post a reel every single day. It doesn’t matter if it’s one second long or a minute and a half long. Can you give value, help a human get closer to their goal every single day for 30 days? I promise you, if you do that, you will, the value that you get will be so grand. I think so many [00:09:00] people post. And they market, but they market from this place of, what are you going to give me? Like I give you marketing, you got to give me, you got to give me a sales call. I did for one week, I showed up and I did all these things. Where are the sales calls? Why haven’t people bought my course? Why haven’t people done it? It’s like, no, no, no, no, no. That’s not how it works. That’s not how it works. Get so fucking good that people feel like they should pay you. And remember you get the value. So many people want the clients. They want the sales calls, which sure, of course I get it. But it’s like, You get so much value of actually putting in the work. You’re the person that gets like when you actually market every day for 30 days, right? When you do that work, you get better. You get the value. What I tell my [00:10:00] masterminders is if you want to have a 20 K month, then you put out 20, 000 worth of value of value. What is, what does that look like? What does that look like? Like you want to hit your first six figures, then put 100, 000 worth of value into the world. How would you categorize that? How, what is 100k worth of value look like to you? When you really answer that question, like I’m, I really want you to answer that question. What is 100, 000 worth of value in marketing look like? Now, if that’s your goal, how are you going to give that much value out and put it out into the world? Because that’s a really, really what it is.
[00:11:00] I, I heard this, um, this pod, I don’t know. It was like a video on Instagram and it was Terry Cruz. Um, this actor, this funny actor. Um, if you look them up, you might recognize him. Terry Cruz was talking on Shannon Sharpe’s podcast, I think, or YouTube channel, whatever. But he said, um, he was talking about value and he said, He said something so genius. He said, the people that get paid the most in this world, they provide the most value to people. And some people don’t get it because they’re like, well, why are these, you know, football players making so much money? But then like, Uh, a doctor, right? For example, they make good money [00:12:00] life changing, right? They’re changing lives like a surgeon, right? Sure. Surgeons making a lot of money, but they’re not making as much as a pro athlete, football player. Right.
But he said it’s because a surgeon can only see a surgeon can only see. So many people in one day. So let’s say they see 30 people in one day. That’s 30 people they’re giving value to where a football player, right? Uh, a pro athlete, they are entertaining millions, really millions of people. That’s why they get paid so much. And I thought that was so genius because it’s so true. The amount of value you give and the amount of people that are affected, right? That is what you will receive back. So. I don’t really care about your fucking hook or about [00:13:00] how the font looks pretty on whatever. And if your carousel is on brand, look, does, does that stuff matter? Sure. Sure. But if you’re in your head about it so much that it’s stopping you from showing up, that’s a problem. That’s why you’re not bringing in the money you want to bring. And you could fight with that all day, but that’s just the truth.
[00:13:30] I recently told one of my clients and this, this, this coaching I gave her really hit, we were talking about, you know, I forget the emotions she said, but she was just like, Oh, it’s so embarrassing. Or it’s so whatever. And I’m like, yeah, but embarrassing is the price you pay to help a person get to the goal. What if the price that you paid was embarrassment for [00:14:00] another person. To be impacted by your work and really take action. Let go of trying to get everything right all the time. You got a long fucking game of business if you’re trying to grow your business. And you’re you have to get very used to getting things wrong over and over and over and over again. So I promise you If you could give yourself grace to just show up and help people and put your shit aside and just show up and help people, do it. Not only do they get so much value, but you get the value by becoming a person who gets good at giving value. This felt like one of my old school episodes and that’s really what I was [00:15:00] going for. I wanted to give you more of a pep talk and just tell you. To stop the perfectionism drama. Stop it. It’s not a moneymaker. It’s keeping your revenue low. Go out there. Be brave. Be courageous. Say some shit that might piss some people off. Tell your story. Help the people. I promise you, if you could get your mindset there. If you get your mindset there, you will grow your business and sign more clients. All right, y’all, that’s it today.
